This policy explains the standards used for Home content published by Turtle Jackson News.

A defined reader problem comes first

Each article starts with a practical household question and a specific intended outcome. We reject topics that merely repeat an existing guide, cannot support useful depth, or drift outside the site’s Home focus. Search visibility matters, but a page must first solve the reader’s problem clearly.

Originality and differentiation

Titles, outlines, examples, tables, and prose must be original. Research can inform a draft, but another publisher’s wording or article structure may not be copied. We also compare planned topics with our existing catalog to reduce duplication and search cannibalization.

Research standards

Claims with meaningful safety implications are checked against product instructions, equipment manuals, lease or building requirements, or authoritative public guidance as appropriate. Changing facts should be verified close to publication. We identify uncertainty instead of inventing a universal rule.

Home-content safety rules

  • Never recommend mixing cleaning or disinfecting chemicals
  • Match cleaning methods to the product label and the surface or material guidance
  • Do not present generic maintenance intervals as universal
  • Treat renter changes as subject to the lease, building rules, and written permission
  • Do not substitute an article for qualified electrical, structural, plumbing, medical, veterinary, or emergency advice
  • Account for children, pets, shared households, mobility, ventilation, climate, and limited space when relevant

Draft and review process

  1. Define the search intent, differentiator, and safe scope.
  2. Create an original outline with decisions, examples, and a useful table or checklist.
  3. Write for the real household context rather than an idealized room.
  4. Review factual claims, links, internal consistency, repetition, and unsafe shortcuts.
  5. Validate metadata, headings, image descriptions, authorship, and public rendering.
  6. Correct concrete blockers before publication and revisit evergreen content when evidence changes.

Authorship and tools

Articles are assigned to a real WordPress user. A staff byline may be used for continuity, but we do not invent degrees, certifications, employers, awards, or firsthand testing. Technology can assist production, but it cannot replace editorial accountability; fabricated quotations, experiences, and sources are prohibited.

Commercial independence

Advertisers and partners do not receive authority to approve editorial conclusions. Sponsored material and material relationships are identified when disclosure is required.

Corrections

Readers can report a concern through the Contact Us page. Material errors are corrected. Minor grammar or formatting changes may be made without a notice; a change that substantially alters the conclusion may receive an editorial note.
